Originally from New York, Kathleen Steventon received a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from Rutgers University and practiced landscape design for ten years while attending evening art instruction. She moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado in 2003 to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a full-time artist.
Within a few months of beginning her professional art career, Steventon was granted a commission by the San Juan Mounted Association to paint a public art sculpture in nearby Durango, Colorado. She has been featured in Southwest Art Magazine as part of the “Start Your Collection” series, an honor that was followed by an incredibly successful year of sales of her horse paintings.
Steventon’s work is available at Two Old Crows art gallery in Pagosa Springs.
