Isaac Martinez

A deep respect and passion for the natural world began for Martinez as a child. Born in 1993 Isaac is fifth generation Native in the small town of Canjilon, NM. As soon as he was able to walk, you would find him hauling rocks and sticks in his wagon through the woods near his home. For as long as he can remember there was never a question that Martinez’s calling would be linked to service to the natural world. Martinez joined the Marine Corps after high school, serving four years. After leaving the military Martinez continued seriously pursuing his artwork.

Martinez’s artwork has been collected internationally and he is known for his detailed wildlife and landscapes. The magnitude of the outdoors is what draws him to portray the dramatic landscapes that he continues to paint. The emphasis on detail can be very stressful to complete, and is humbling to the artist. Martinez’s art allows viewers to experience a moment in time of our shared environment.
