Buster Griggs
Buster Griggs, Western Oil Paintings
The focus of Buster Griggs’ work is his love of the West. His paintings and drawings honor the history and grandeur of the mountains and plains, the Native Americans whose ancestors called it their home, and the pioneer families and the cowboys who explored and settled in this beautiful country.
Griggs became a commercial artist while still in his teens and worked his way through school as a graphic artist. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1970, then started a career in advertising.
When “adventure called” in the early 1970s, Griggs began new career adventures that included Sky Marshal for the U.S. Treasury Department, and Special Agent for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. During his assignments at various United States locations, he continued to paint and draw as a passionate hobby.
Griggs’ work is in private and public collections in the United States and Canada. Griggs and his wife, Karen, reside in Pagosa Springs, Colorado and Anthem, Arizona.
