Tempist Jade

Tempist Jade, Jewelry
Tempist Jade is a queer mother and mixed ancestry, transdisciplinary artist & guide descending from Passamaquoddy, Irish, British, Greek, Egyptian, Sicilian and Macedonian peoples. Birthed by an artist, Tempist began their journey with beading at a young age, initially learning from their mother. One of the greatest capacities they inherited from her is the ability to listen deeply for the emergent soul of every piece that births its way through their hands.
Their work is imbued with the magic of deep-time conversations between themself and their lineages of belonging and displacement. Each beaded piece is a convergence of diasporic dreams, perennial paradoxes, place-based resilience, and the contradictions of love. As a lover of crossroads, their art (and guiding) tends to the intersections of ancestry, mythos, gender, inter-species relating, and place-based belonging as pathways for the reimagining of emergent and unknown futures of possibility.
For Tempist, art is a form of ancestral re-membrance. A ceremonial process that invokes the anarchy of wonder, and re-attunes our imaginations to the rhythms and wisdoms of the Earth and Cosmos. Embedded within each piece is a poetic invocation calling out to the wearers indwelling genius, conjuring forth invisible gifts through the ancient ceremony of adornments that are ritually crafted in relationship with place and more-than-human kin.
